Girlfriends....

I am so missing my girls as of late. They are pretty much all in NY and for some reason I am really missing them, perhaps because it is so hard to make friends when you get older.

The bf has tons of friends and this week he hung out a few nights with them. I am envious because they are within blocks of where we live and most of mine are in a different time zone. So I have been a bit blue. I miss going shopping, out to the movies and just having a girl talk over coffee with my friends. Ther eis just something about having your girls around.

I did not really think that making friends when you got older would be this hard. I am sure my work and travel schedule is no conducive to making friends either. I try do activities where I can meet other people but other than school I don't have the time. Plus I've noticed that you tend to make friends with people you have something in common with...like if you have a newborn you can go to Gymboree and meet other new moms and then start to hang out to talk about baby same if you have a dog and go to the dog park.

It is just really hard and I miss them a lot.

Awww...trust me, I know how you feel. Most of my friends are married with children and have left the city. Sometimes I miss 'em, but sometimes I appreciate the solitude. It helped me discover the person inside of me that I didn't even know existed.

I'm definitely a Chicago friend! :) We should check out a cooking class or something. Or maybe just coffee and some gab time. You seem like a great gal!

PS: I went to Lush today! I'm hooked!! ;)

I hear that. I have this problem too. It doesn't help that I tend to be more on the antisocial side by nature. I haven't had many close friends and I've gotten screwed over so I don't even know if I want to anymore. But two of my closest friends moved to Michigan in January. And another friend that I felt really close to basically became a complete douchebag and we quit talking (also in January). It's been hard. I just don't find that many people I click with. I could go on and on (and on and on!) but perhaps I should not.

BF friends are dangerous. If something goes bad and you break up?!?!?! *gasps* you could be "friendless"...Not that I have lived that or anything...
LOL ;o)

I know how you feel though. When I re-located to PHX I felt really isolated form my "friends" so...I did a add and joined a singles group that I met other people...

Needsleepbadly is right. Try a cooking class or maybe an art class. You might have to wait until this last quarter is over, but then you'll find some time.
